Key Responsibilities of the successful Lift Repair Manager:
As our Lift Repair Manager, you will be responsible for overseeing the repair and modernization of a wide range of lift systems, ensuring high standards of safety, performance, and customer satisfaction. Key responsibilities include:
- Planning, scheduling, and managing all lift repair and maintenance activities.
- Leading and supporting a team of lift technicians and engineers.
- Diagnosing faults and ensuring efficient, high-quality repairs.
- Conducting routine inspections and ensuring compliance with health & safety standards.
- Coordinating lift modernization and upgrade projects.
- Liaising with manufacturers, suppliers, and contractors for parts and services.
- Maintaining detailed service records and preparing reports.
- Developing and implementing preventative maintenance programs.
- Ensuring all repairs meet legal and manufacturer specifications.
- Monitoring budgets and managing procurement of parts and tools.
- Training and mentoring new staff, promoting a culture of continuous improvement.
- Responding to emergency breakdowns quickly and effectively.
Key requirements of the successful Lift Repair Manager:
- NVQ Level 3 qualification in Lift Engineering (essential).
- Management or supervisory experience (highly desirable).
- Strong mechanical and electrical knowledge of lift systems.
- Sound understanding of lift safety regulations (e.g., LOLER, PUWER, EN 81).
- Excellent problem-solving and decision-making skills.
- Strong communication and leadership abilities.
- Ability to handle multiple projects and priorities.
- Proficiency with IT systems, reporting tools, and CMMS software.
