About the client:

Aur Client is the largest supplier of cable in Europe, and he is looking for a motivated and experienced Transport Manager to join a dynamic team in our busy London office. This role offers an excellent opportunity to contribute to the growth and success of our business while furthering your own career.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Health and Safety: Promote a positive Health, Safety, and Environmental (HSE) culture within the team.
  • Operational Management: Conduct investigations into any operational incidents and seek continuous improvements in all areas of performance, including vehicle utilisation, running efficiencies, and repair and maintenance spending.
  • Compliance and Monitoring: Ensure compliance with industry standards, including FORS, monitor vehicle defects, driver infringements, and maintain a clean and well-maintained fleet.
  • Stakeholder Liaison: Communicate effectively with warehouse/production operations managers and other stakeholders to ensure smooth operations.
  • Administrative Oversight: Oversee departmental administrative responsibilities, including rotas, disciplinaries, holidays, absenteeism, and recruitment.

Candidate Requirements:

  • Experience: Previous experience as a Transport Manager and in multi-drop distribution is essential. Lorry Loader experience is preferred.
  • Compliance Knowledge: Strong understanding and experience in compliance and FORS.
  • Skills: Excellent communication and negotiating skills, strong planning and organisational skills, and the ability to work under pressure while producing high-standard work.
  • Geographical Knowledge: Good geographical knowledge is essential.
  • Team Player: Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with a hands-on approach to work alongside drivers.
  • Character: Must be driven
