Hours: 35hrs a week
Pattern: 4.5 days (half day on Friday)
Role Purpose: Provide manufacturing engineering expertise to ensure zero-defect projects by developing robust processes for materials, tooling, part fabrication, and assembly.
Key Accountabilities:
General:
- Promote safety and ensure compliance with the company's Health, Safety, and Environmental policies.
- Develop technical solutions for complex problems.
- Support manufacturing process development and integration into production.
- Use root cause analysis to reduce non-conformances.
- Maintain positive relationships with customers and coworkers.
- Implement Lean initiatives to improve production processes.
Product Manufacturing Engineering:
- Develop and implement production planning from concept to production.
- Oversee product development, configuration changes, and build process implementation.
Essential:
- Degree in Manufacturing Engineering (Aerospace, Mechanical, Electrical, Chemical).
- Competent in own field with developing skills in other areas.
- Able to represent the business in customer/supplier meetings.
- Identifies problems and offers solutions, seeks continuous improvement.
- Participates in global technical community activities.
- Acts independently and supervises others as needed.
- Understands business structure and supports technical community.
- Develops working relationships through teamwork, influence, leadership, and coaching.
- Engages in Continuing Professional Development (CPD).
- For internal candidates: Completes ME Academy training. External candidates must demonstrate equivalent capabilities.
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in Manufacturing Engineering.
- Knowledge of ISO9000, AS9100, or D1-9000 quality systems.
- Fluent in English.
Desirable:
- Experience in Project/Program Management.
- Familiarity with AS9145 APQP process or equivalent.
