Then reach out! Kingston Barnes is recruiting an Engineering and Maintenance Manager for one of our clients in the Avonmouth area.

The Role:

Duties & responsibilities include, but aren’t limited to:

  • Ensure plant availability and asset value preservation within budget.
  • Lead maintenance and repair activities during planned and unplanned shutdowns.
  • Manage statutory inspections and maintain up-to-date documentation.
  • Maximise the use of the Computerised Maintenance Management System (CMMS).
  • Oversee plant modifications in line with change management procedures.
  • Ensure compliance with health, safety, and environmental regulations.
  • Implement and maintain a Safe System of Work for staff and contractors.
  • Oversee OPEX and CAPEX budgets, ensuring cost efficiency and resource allocation.
  • Identify cost-saving opportunities and recommend budget adjustments.
  • Conduct regular team meetings, promoting communication and engagement.
  • Ensure adherence to all company policies, procedures, and safety requirements.
  • Respond to plant and equipment breakdowns, including out-of-hours callouts.
  • Support regulatory reporting requirements for safety and environmental compliance.
  • Participate in management meetings related to production and maintenance.
  • Manage spare parts procurement and stock control.
  • Oversee contractor management, ensuring compliance with safety procedures.
  • Conduct annual performance reviews for direct reports.

About you:

  • Engineering & Maintenance qualifications at Degree/HND level (or equivalent).
  • Experience in health, safety, and environmental legislation within the process or power industry.
  • Strong knowledge of pressure systems, steam turbines, electrical generation, and associated equipment.
  • Familiarity with Preventative Maintenance Systems and CMMS.
  • Experience leading teams and contractors to meet KPIs.
  • Understanding of safe systems of work, plant isolations, and safety systems.
  • Computer literate with strong communication, problem-solving, and organisational skills

Package:

  • £70,000 per year
  • Pension up to 7% matched
  • Annual bonus scheme (company and personal performance)
