“Freedom.”
That’s the answer the retiring Operations Director gave me yesterday when I asked my final question, “What’s been the best thing about working for (my client)?”
In his role, he leads the key business departments in a great food business – customer service, procurement, product development, distribution and HR. He deals with suppliers and third-party manufacturers daily. He builds first-class relationships across his entire network and is very highly regarded by those that work with him and for him.
These are big shoes to fill.
But the freedom you’ll have to make your way in this company and really make this position your own is quite rare. The owners have fostered a trusting culture where you are allowed to do your job the way you want to do it, and it works; everyone seems to pull in the same direction when it matters. This really is a “people business”.
So, we’re looking for an experienced Operations Director or Senior Operations Leader to take the baton. You’ll need to be from FMCG, ideally food, but we need someone who is that strong link to the retailers too. If you’ve only worked on the manufacturing side, it’s probably not the right fit, although some exposure to this in the past will be useful too.
They are based just south of Bristol so you’ll need to be living in the south west or reasonably commutable. Relocation could be discussed too for the right person.
Salary is around £85,000 and you’ll get a high-level company car plus private healthcare.
There’s so much I could say about this truly great company and fantastic opportunity but you’ll have to apply to find out more!
