Are you an experienced project leader in construction or refurbishment management? My client is seeking an Operations/Contracts Manager to oversee complex, large-scale projects, specifically high-rise refurbishments. This is an opportunity to work with a skilled team in a dynamic role, driving impactful projects that include roofing, window and door replacements, External and Internal Wall Insulation (EWI & IWI), and more.
About the RoleIn this key position, you'll:
- Lead a Team of Project Managers Guide and support project managers in delivering high-quality results, on time, and within budget.
- Manage Major Refurbishments Oversee high-rise projects that include roofing, windows, doors, and essential safety installations like fire doors and lightning conductors.
- Ensure Compliance & Safety Conduct site inspections to ensure health and safety measures are in place, adhering to strict industry regulations.
- Handle Contract Oversight Manage contracts end-to-end, from negotiation to completion, ensuring compliance with legal and client requirements.
- Control Project Finances Monitor project budgets and approve variations, working closely with quantity surveyors for accurate cost tracking.
- Liaise with Stakeholders Act as the primary contact for high-level client interactions, resolving concerns and coordinating with stakeholders.
Essential Skills & Qualifications
- Proven Experience in operations or contracts management in construction, specifically high-rise refurbishments.
- Strong Knowledge of construction methods and safety standards, including SMSTS or equivalent qualifications.
- Financial Management Expertise Ability to manage large budgets, variations, and contracts.
- Project & Team Leadership Skilled in managing multiple projects and teams, delivering quality work on time.
- Excellent Communication Confidently liaise with clients, team members, and external stakeholders.
Preferred Skills
- Professional Qualification CIOB or RICS membership is a plus.
- Experience in Public Sector/Social Housing Familiarity with public sector refurbishment projects is beneficial.
- Contract & Dispute Knowledge Knowledge of JCT/NEC contracts and handling claims is advantageous.
- Primary work across multiple Bristol sites with occasional travel to project sites or client meetings.
