SPX Radiodetection is seeking an experienced and proactive Quality and Testing Manager to join our R&D Leadership team in Bristol. As an innovative industry leader, Radiodetection has the ambition to grow substantially over the next five years, offering a unique opportunity for career growth within a dynamic organisation. This role requires a seasoned leader responsible for product development quality throughout the entire development phase, emphasising early-stage quality integration.


You will lead quality efforts across our product ecosystem, ensuring that Radiodetection products and cloud solutions meet top-tier standards internally and with third-party partners. This position involves hands-on work and team management across global locations, including teams in Bristol and Mississauga, Canada, with approximately 10% travel required. This is a hybrid role based in Bristol, with Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday the minimum requirement to be on-site.


Key Responsibilities:

- Lead the quality and testing strategy across hardware, software, and system levels from the start of each project, shifting from end-phase testing to comprehensive, early-stage quality integration.

- Define and execute the overall system quality strategy, considering third-party cloud systems and the broader ecosystem.

- Oversee system testing, with direct responsibility for the quality across internal components and partner integrations.

- Manage and guide a global team of test engineers, including teams in Bristol and Mississauga, ensuring coordinated efforts to meet product quality objectives.

- Design and implement test plans that focus on overall system quality, ensuring best-in-class quality and transparency in product maturity.

- Collaborate with cross-functional teams and lead issue resolution through frameworks like 8D.

- Work with Customer Service to improve test coverage and reduce field return rates.


Requirements:

- Experience in development quality and people management, with the ability to lead both hands-on testing and team oversight.

- Proficiency in end-to-end test plan creation, system-level testing, and QA methodologies, including DOE, FMEA, DFSS, and 8D.

- Experience with automated testing, HALT, electro-mechanical testing, and failure analysis.

- Strong technical background, with a focus on continuous improvement, quality standards, and early-phase quality processes.

- Degree (BEng/MEng/BSc/MSc) or HND/HNC in Electronics or Software.
