Reed are working with a well-established manufacturing company based in Nailsea, North Somerset. Recruiting for an experienced Materials Controller to join on a full time, permanent basis.

This role is perfect for someone with a robust background in materials management within the manufacturing, engineering, or production sectors. The successful candidate will oversee goods inward, manage stock levels, and ensure the efficiency and organisation of storage areas.

Working hours: Monday – Thursday 8.00am – 5.00pm with half an hour for lunch & Friday 8.00am – 1.00pm

Day-to-day of the role:
  • Control the receipt, checking, and recording of incoming goods.
  • Inspect goods and manage the reporting and returning of non-conforming products.
  • Ensure effective and efficient storage of materials.
  • Allocate goods to the correct locations within the stores.
  • Ensure all jobs are picked accurately and in a timely manner.
  • Update and maintain the ERP System to ensure accurate data management.
  • Maintain cleanliness and organisation in the warehouse and outside areas.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
  • Proven experience as a Materials Controller or similar role within a manufacturing, engineering, or production environment.
  • Experience of using ERP or similar (please state on application)
  • Strong knowledge of goods inward, goods outward, stock turn, and control/materials management and flow.
  • Excellent organisational skills and the ability to work to deadlines.
  • Logical and practical approach to problem-solving.
  • Forklift licence is beneficial but not essential.
