Role- Design EngineerSalary- £35,000 - £45,000 per annum (dependent on experience)Type- PermanentLocation- Bristol (hybrid working is available) My client designs and manufactures Consumer Products. They are looking for a Design Engineer to join their team in Bristol on a permanent basis. The Design Engineer will ideally have the following attributes:

2 years or more of experience in a similar Product Design / Mechanical Engineering position
Excellent proficiency with 3D CAD software – ideally Inventor or SolidWorks
Experience working on full lifecycle design projects
Ideally be Degree qualified in Mechanical Engineering, Product Design, Industrial Design or similar
Knowledge of a sheet metal, injection moulded plastics, welding, fabrication, castings etc.
Good understanding of product development, FEA, prototyping and R&D
Be technically minded with a head for problem solving
Proven ability to drive Engineering development
Good mathematical and general engineering knowledge
Be self-motivated with excellent attention to detail
Have excellent communication skills both verbal and written

The Design Engineer role will involve:

Developing ideas from concept through to production
Using CAD for concept design and producing technical drawings
Working on full lifecycle product design projects
Speaking to End Users and doing market research
Liaising with manufacturing providers
Being involved in final assembly of products
Creating the required documentation for design as well as project reports / plans
Updating 3D models and drawings
Inputting parts into the MRP system creating BOMs
Checking drawings for sign off
Working in a small multi-disciplinary team on varied projects
