Our client is a specialist manufacturer of high-complex tolerance components in the Aerospace Engineering field. With extensive machining capabilities allowing this business to take on the toughest aerospace engineering challenges. The successful Managing Director will provide structure, leadership and direction to the Engineering team. Closely working with the CEO this opportunity offers great development for the successful candidate.

Responsibilities for the Managing Director

  • The Engineering Manager will demonstrate clear leadership and passion to achieve operational excellence
  • Identify any variances to budget and implement corrective actions to ensure the budgeted level of profitability is achieved
  • Responsible for the manufacturing processes
  • Responsibly for the developing and delivery of the businesses annual budget and owning the P&L
  • Utilise and build upon the extensive suite of KPIs and management information in place
  • Development of the management team
  • Supporting the Operations Manager to deliver organisational and departmental level measures to monitor the level of progress/improvement and drive changes as required e.g. 100% OTIF and 100% RTFT performance
  • Ensure all documentation and processes are in place
  • Identify clear investment plans and timescales that work to support the strategic growth strategy for the business and ensure they align with customer/market demands
  • Ensure compliance with internal and external policies, procedures and legislation including health & safety, personnel, and regulatory frameworks
  • Promote an attitude of continuous improvement, ensuring everyone understands and participates in the journey
  • Responsible for the Commercial and Engineering teams to deliver business opportunities and the introduction of new products in accordance with customer and business requirements
Essential skills, knowledge and experience required for the Managing Director
  • Prior experience in operational and people management
  • Good knowledge of Production machinery and technologies
  • Aerospace experience is preferred
  • Good understanding of Quality Control procedures
  • Strong interpersonal and motivational skills to positively influence business outcomes
  • Excellent problem-solving and attention to detail
