- One minute you may be modelling on 3D CAD, the next you may be troubleshooting a problem in production.
- Creating new parts on their Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) system.
- Amending an older drawing to meet modern requirements.
- Due to the long service life of their products, a simple drawing change may require you to use a 3D CAD package, 2D CAD package or even M.S. paint in some cases.
- Resolving issues on the shop floor
- Complete competent technical document after resolving issues
- Attending meetings with senior managers.
- Qualified to at least HNC in a mechanical engineering discipline
- P.C literate
- M.S. office applications to a good standard
- Some hands on mechanical experience is preferred
- Attention to detail is essential
- Previous experience of Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) tools is important
- 3D CAD to a competent level, Solidworks preferred but other CAD systems considered. Some use of 2D CAD would be desirable.
- Ability to draft technical documents and reports to a good standard
- Can react to changing workloads and priorities
- Good communication skills are a must as you will be expected to talk to different departments at different levels.
