Lead Mechanical Engineer - DesignBristol - hybrid working£50,000 - £63,300 (plus bonus and benefits)  Several Lead Mechanical Engineers are wanted on a permanent basis by a global Engineering client of ours who is at the forefront of their industry. In this role, the successful candidate will ultimately be responsible for Mechanical Engineering ‘best practice’ and driving through the project team that they lead.  This is a permanent opportunity that includes a base salary of between £50,000 - £63,300 dependent upon experience and qualifications plus bonuses and benefits.  Overview of the Lead Mechanical Engineer role:
  • Lead, guide, and motivate a team of Mechanical engineers and ensure they work cohesively and collaborate effectively towards successful project milestones, through to the completion of the work.
  • Advocate and lead the adoption of best practice mechanical engineering to improve the delivery of the engineering function to time, cost, quality, and specification, whilst ensuring the appropriate level of effective technical governance is in place for safety, compliance, quality, and reliability.
  • Devise and distribute work packages, often across multiple cross-functional teams, guiding the project toward a successful passage throughout the project lifecycle.
  Key skills required for the Lead Mechanical Engineer role:
  • Substantial experience in Mechanical Engineering and design, in a relatable engineering industry.
  • Experience and understanding of working in a regulated, compliance-driven industry including a strong understanding of product safety and compliance to applicable standards as well as, Safety and design review methods, e.g., PHA, HAZOP, LOPA, FMEA.
  • Experience in designing and developing products 
  • Relevant Engineering degree alongside proven ability to lead Mechanical Engineering teams.
