This Senior Structural Engineer role has been created to support the consultancy’s strategic expansion in Bristol. As part of a highly skilled team, the successful candidate will lead high-profile projects, working closely with architects, contractors, and clients to deliver innovative and sustainable structural solutions. This position offers the opportunity to contribute to transformative designs, mentor junior staff, and play a key role in shaping the future of the Bristol office within a collaborative and dynamic environment.
The Senior Structural Engineer will:
- Take ownership of structural engineering designs, delivering innovative, efficient, and sustainable solutions that meet client and project requirements.
- Oversee projects from concept through to completion, managing budgets, timelines, and resources to ensure successful delivery.
- Work closely with architects, contractors, and other stakeholders to provide integrated design solutions, ensuring clear and effective communication throughout the process.
- Provide guidance and support to junior engineers and technicians, fostering their professional development and maintaining high technical standards across the team.
- Conduct detailed reviews of designs and calculations, ensuring compliance with relevant codes, standards, and best practices.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in structural engineering, with a proven track record of working on diverse projects, including commercial and residential developments.
- Strong knowledge of structural design across various materials (steel, concrete, timber, masonry) and expertise in industry-standard softwares.
- Working towards or holding chartership with IStructE or ICE, demonstrating commitment to professional excellence.
- Ability to communicate complex technical concepts effectively with clients, architects, and contractors, and lead collaborative discussions to achieve project goals.
