Technical Engineering Manager (Simulation and Control) – Permanent

Bristol Area – Attractive - Aerospace and Defence

A Technical Manager is required within an Advanced Aerospace and Defence Services Organisation. The Technical Managerwill be an experienced Team Leader working on technical projects while shaping the future of engineering.

The Technical Manager Will Lead the Simulation and Control Department for Mathematical Modelling & Analysisas part of the Senior Management Team. The Technical Managerwill be working on electro-mechanical based systems for Aerospace and Defence platforms and innovative projects.

Flexible working is available, and a hybrid working model for part of the week.

The Technical Manageryou will be required to:

  • Lead from the front and be involved in hands-on technical work.
  • Drive the strategic direction of the Simulation and Control team.
  • Oversee the development and management of cutting-edge mathematical models.
  • Detailed analysis for some of the most exciting industries today.
  • Work closely with other capability managers to align resources, skills, and expertise.
  • Manage talent, foster skills development, and provide technical leadership.
  • Contribute to project proposals and bids, including technical solution and cost estimates.

The Technical ManagerEngineerSkills, Qualifications, and Experience:

  • Strong industrial background in areas related to simulation and control.
  • Solid understanding of the technical challenges in this field.
  • A passion for hands-on engineering able to solve complex problems.
  • Leadership Qualities to help shape the future engineering capabilities.
  • Engineering degree with technical hands-on experience.
  • Knowledge in modelling, Matlab/Simulink, ADAMS and Amesim.
  • Experience in technical leadership, line management and process improvement.
  • Experience in customer facing roles and business development is also advantageous.
