Your new companyWe are currently working with a Public Sector organisation to help recruit a Contracts Manager to join their Strategic Procurement team. They help to deliver public services across the local area, making a positive impact on the community and lives of the residents.Your new roleReporting into the Head of Procurement, you'll be leading the organisation's approach to the procurement of goods, works & services efficiently within the complex regulatory environment of public sector procurement. You'll manage and govern a portfolio of corporate contracts to help gain increased value from suppliers, mitigate risk and control the overall spend. You'll be acting as the Council's lead contract management professional and make a significant impact on a range of services by influencing, shaping and challenging at senior level to ensure that relevant regulations, best practices and policies are taken into account.What you'll need to succeed

  • A relevant degree or procurement & supply chain qualification (CIPS Level 6)
  • A broad understanding of the public sector procurement and Public Contract Regulations 2015
  • Experience working closely with and advising Senior Leadership
  • Confident communication and negotiation skills, with a focus on building strong corporate supplier relationships and the management thereof
  • Contract management experience within the public sector
  • Experience developing and reviewing organisational contract management strategy and related frameworks & policies
  • Previous experience of line management is desirable
