Job Title: Occupational Therapist  Location: Pilning, South Gloucestershire, BS35 4JN Salary: Actual salary £35,358 - £38,398.33 dependant on experience (£37,668.40 - £44,699.20 FTE) Hours: 40 hours per week – Term time only We are currently seeking an Occupational Therapist to join a dynamic provision for children aged 7-19 with a primary or secondary diagnosis of Autism and related social and communication needs. The role: As an Occupational Therapist, you will work as part of a multi-disciplinary team within the therapy service based within the School.You will provide a high standard of occupational therapy assessment and intervention to children and young people, including advice and training to relevant parents, carers and professionals in line with proposed treatment plans.You will work autonomously and manage a caseload of children with complex needs, autistic spectrum conditions, sensory needs and attachment difficulties that are placed within the specialist education setting.Successful candidate qualities:Qualifications:
  • A recognised degree in Occupational Therapy and current registration of the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC).
  • Member of RCOT
Experience:
  • Previous experience in an occupational therapy role
  • Experience of Multi-disciplinary team and multi-agency working
  • Knowledge and experience of a wide range of approaches to the management of children by advanced clinical reasoning
  • Knowledge of the management of children who have autistic spectrum conditions, sensory needs and attachment difficulties, including evidence based strategies.
  • Experience of using sensory strategies to support children and young people.
