Bath and North East Somerset Council are looking for a School Education Co-ordinator to join their Virtual School. This role can be worked on a hybrid basis.

As a School Education Co-ordinator you will:

  • Take lead responsibility for education and progress of children in care aged from EYFS to KS3
  • Organise and work with colleagues and carers to ensure Bath and North East Somerset local authority is an excellent corporate parent, and that all children and young people benefit form a first education
  • Work with schools, academies and other education providers to ensure additional resources for children in care are used effectively and efficiently in line with the departmental priorities and performance indicators
  • Ensure the Pupil Premium is allocated and that schools are held to account for the impact of the additional funding for children in care
  • Monitor the progress of children and young people in care in schools and settings and scrutinize the quality of Personal Education Plans

Requirements

  • Detailed practical knowledge of the education system, schools, colleges and Looked After Children
  • Understanding of social services, Looked After Children and Care Leavers
  • Experience of working with young people including LAC/CiC
