Purpose:

The primary role of this Team Leader role is managing the Through Life Management (TLM) of theMedical, Dental and Veterinary Equipment (MDVE) range and line management responsibilities for nominated colleagues in addition to daily ESM requirements. This role includes mentoring and providing support and guidance through all aspects of equipment projects, integrated logistic support planning and wider MSS activity. An understanding of capability across defence and management of teams would be an advantage.

Please note we work on a hybrid model of three days working from home and two days in our offices in Emersons Green, Bristol each week.

Main Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Deliver through life support services, primarily to Defence Medical Services medical equipment capabilities throughout the globe
  • Lead, develop and manage three Equipment Support Managers.
  • BPT Deputise for ESM Lead during periods of leave and essential meetings ensuring an ESM focal point on customer meetings.
  • Build sound knowledge and competency of MOD policy & procedures and ensure full compliance.
  • Understanding Pan DLOD impact on project delivery, including impact on TLM/ILS of equipment.
  • Continuous Improvement ethos - develop strategies for improving business efficiencies in Safety, Assurance, Project delivery, AME testing, and SOP development.
  • Track, trace and deliver all Customer Corrective Action Requests into ESM team within stated timelines.
  • Work alongside other business colleagues, ensuring seamless delivery of equipment.
  • During project handover ensure PM project delivery is complete and all necessary processes followed.
  • Work with Supply chain controllers to resolve uncodified spares across MDVE.
  • Maintain equipment failure registers to ensure safety related incidents are investigated and closed.

Knowledge, Skills, Qualifications and Experience:

  • Essential will be a Practical apprenticeship background in equipment engineering and some management experience.
  • Experience as a Technician/Engineer either in civilian or military sectors. (suit ex-military engineer)
  • Ideally qualified to degree level (desirable), HND or equivalent industry experience of managing equipment through life.
  • Knowledge of MOD through life support processes and policy would be an advantage.
  • Desirable - Medical engineering experience in a Biomedical field but not essential as training will be provided.
