We are looking for a Part-Time Payroll Administrator for a leading Bristol law firm. This is a hybrid role with a blend of home and office working; you will be required to attend the office 2 days per month with occasional additional days, as necessary. During your first month you will be required to attend the office 2-3 days per week. The role is part time, 20 hours a week, Monday -Friday, working ideally 9.30am - 1.30pm.

The role

You will be responsible for:

  • Receiving, interpreting, recording/inputting data to help with the production of the monthly payroll on the payroll system for different companies. This will include a mixture of using the system to integrate data such as starters, leavers, absence records, statutory leave and ay, address changes, bank details, department changes, and manually inputting data.
  • Continually checking for accuracy of the data.
  • Processing Auto Enrolment pensions and the production of reports required for upload to the pension provider.
  • Preparing reports and summaries.
  • Performing checks and reconciliations as well as having regular liaison with the People Services Team.

You will join a friendly and supportive team and be responsible for a monthly payroll of over 500 staff members.

The person

  • Previous payroll experience is essential, and knowledge of Iris Cascade Payroll would be an advantage
  • Able to manually calculate pro rata payments to reconcile systems
  • Experience of dealing with other payments/deductions associated with payroll e.g. CSA, earning attachments and PAYE
  • Able to demonstrate good data entry skills, attention to detail, accuracy and thoroughness.
  • Strong Excel and Word skills and ability to learn new systems quickly.
  • Effective communicator with a high regard for sensitivity and confidentiality
  • Conscientious, committed and willing to learn and develop your skills
  • Able to prioritise a busy workload

The salary
