Astute's Nuclear team is partnering with an international player in the nuclear energy market recognised for its innovative solutions and technology for designing, building, maintaining, and advancing the global nuclear sector to recruit a Head of Project Management for its Nuclear Business Units.

Responsibilities and duties

Reporting to the Head of PMO you will be responsible for:

  • The line management of Project Management, and Project Control teams.
  • The ownership of the Project related processes and reporting (for both management and control of projects) and associated tools/systems.
  • The governance and assurance supporting the delivery of projects to the Operational Business Lines.
  • Manage the project management team and ensure adequate resources and training is provided.
  • Coordinate with Sales team to support winning proposals to customers.
  • Organise the project review processes enabling the COO and Head of Business Lines to assess the project performances (individually and at portfolio level).
  • Act as a point of escalation for customer queries on project related matters in support to
  • Head of Business Lines.

Professional qualifications

We are looking for someone with the following:

  • Experience in highly regulated industries.
  • Experience in managing complex projects and/or programs and/or project portfolios from a delivery perspective
  • Strong knowledge and experience of implementing of project processes, systems, and tools and understanding of finance, budget, and project accounting. Project management Certification (PMQ, working toward PPQ or equivalent)
  • Knowledge of relevant ISO standards (ISO 9001, 14001, (phone number removed) and working knowledge of IMS systems.
  • A comprehensive understanding of the health, safety and environmental requirements of managing project (incl. CDM regulation)
  • Experience and understanding of commercial and contract management (incl. NEC, FIDIC, ad hoc, etc.)
