Your new companyA highly respected law firm based in the vibrant heart of South West England, renowned for their commitment to excellence and integrity in all aspects of work. Due to continued growth and dedication to upholding the highest standards of legal compliance, they're now seeking an experienced Anti-Money Laundering (AML) Manager to join their dynamic team.Your new roleAs the AML Manager, you will play a pivotal role in safeguarding the firm from financial and reputational risks associated with money laundering and financial crimes. You will be responsible for developing, implementing, and managing AML compliance program, ensuring adherence to all relevant legislation and regulatory requirements.

  • Develop and maintain the firm's AML compliance policies and procedures in line with the latest regulations and best practices.
  • Conduct ongoing risk assessments to identify potential AML risks and implement appropriate mitigation strategies.
  • Oversee and conduct client due diligence and continuous monitoring processes to ensure compliance with Know Your Customer (KYC) requirements.
  • Provide AML training to staff, ensuring a high level of awareness and understanding of AML obligations across the firm.
  • Act as the primary point of contact for all AML-related inquiries, both internal and external, including liaising with regulatory bodies as required.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of AML activities and ensure timely reporting of suspicious activities to the relevant authorities.

What you'll need to succeed

  • Proven experience in an AML compliance role, preferably within the legal sector or a related field.
  • Strong understanding of UK AML regulations, especially as they apply to the legal profession.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with a keen eye for detail.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively train and lead staff on AML compliance matters.
  • Ability to work independently, manage multiple priorities, and thrive in a fast-paced environment.
  • Relevant professional qualifications (e.g., ACAMS, ICA Diploma) would be advantageous.
