Compliance Manager – BedminsterWe're working with an established and progressive Legal 500 law firm, looking to add a Compliance Manager to play a critical role in its Management Team. The firm offers a collaborative and inclusive workplace culture, valuing kindness, respect, and professional excellence.The RoleThe Compliance Manager will support the Head of Compliance in various strategic and operational responsibilities, including monitoring regulatory developments, managing risks, and upholding compliance with SRA, Lexcel, and other standards. You will also provide support across key compliance areas, such as AML, data protection, and complaints management.Key Responsibilities:
  • Stay informed of changes in legal and regulatory standards to ensure ongoing compliance.
  • Manage the auditing of case files and related follow-ups to ensure quality and adherence to procedures.
  • Oversee compliance with professional accreditations and regulatory requirements.
  • Draft and update firm-wide policies, procedures, and internal guidance documents.
  • Assist with complaint investigations and responses.
  • Collaborate with internal teams to deliver compliance training and onboarding sessions.
  • Support the MLRO and DPO with reporting, monitoring, and risk assessments in their areas of responsibility.
  • Regularly update leadership on compliance metrics, including the outcomes of internal audits.
The ideal candidate:
  • Professional legal qualifications (Solicitor, FCILEx, or equivalent) with experience managing regulatory functions.
  • Proven track record in risk and compliance management within a regulated industry.
  • Strong understanding of anti-money laundering, data protection, and professional conduct standards.
  • Excellent communication and leadership skills, with the ability to simplify complex regulations for diverse audiences.
  • High proficiency with legal software and case management tools
