My client, an award winning and successful company is looking to recruit a NPD Technologist / New Product technologist / Product Development technologist for their modern food 聽innovation centre based in Bristol. 聽My Client is a family business with more than 30 years of award-winning experience in creating, rolling out and managing bespoke customer food-on-the-move solutions to Blue chip and smaller food companies

The role of the NPD Technologist will involve delivering new products & customer launches to market through:

路Driving development of quality and safe products from blue sky to launch taking into consideration specific product parameters and customer requirements
路Ensuring ingredient/product information is accurate, up-to-date and consistent in the NPD system
路Understanding project critical paths and implications of deviations
路Building relationships with the manufacturers, understanding capabilities and spending time on-site with their development teams to create exciting products efficiently, following the products through to the launch and beyond.
路Co-ordinating sample requests, overseeing product processes, and conducting organoleptic and shelf-life evaluations across product ranges and applications including sign off with Food Safety Team.
路Generate product labeling in compliance with relevant legislation- proofreading from design to printing
路Liaising and communicating with internal and external stakeholders throughout the launch process
路Support continuous improvement by identifying innovative ideas and ingredient opportunities that maximise cost savings and enhance business efficiency.
路Generate internal project documentation during the development process such as product information sheets, product labeling sheets, trial forms, post launch reviews
路Generate external project documentation with relevant stakeholders throughout the development process, using different media types, to include shelf edge labels, allergen matrixes, manuals and QAS documents
路Attending factory trials and product launches at various locations across the UK and Ireland, minimising food waste from trials and data capturing while in attendance. 聽
路Assist in sending samples for customer request, photography or external events
路Being active in hosting customer visits, setting up product displays and other supporting actions
路Investigating new food trends and competitor activity from local to global levels and feeding back to the central team to share knowledge.
路Taking positive steps to engage in discussions, opportunities and actions to minimise environmental impacts internally and externally to the benefit of all

New Product Development 聽Experience / Qualifications
路NPD , New Product Development experience in a Food / Drink manufacturing environment
路Computer literate, particularly EXCEL.
路Excellent organisational skills and natural can-do attitude.
路Relishes working in a fast-paced environment in a hands-on capacity independently and as a part of a team.
路Can quickly grasp and adapt to new software with ease.
路Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
路If required to drive to suppliers/clients or between offices, a valid UK driving licence is essential.
路A strong interest in food outside of work and awareness of market trends.
