Headteacher Salary: Up to 85k per annum depending on experienceLocation: BristolContract: Permanent Are you a passionate, experienced leader in a SEMH environment?We are currently looking for an experienced Head Teacher to take on a new challenge in a specialist independent day school. This provision specifically supports children across age groups (4-19) with complex SEMH needs.Responsibilities:
  • Lead the school’s overall vision and strategy
  • Oversee design and implementation of an inclusive, engaging and accessible curriculum
  • Drive continuous improvement of the school, implementing effective curriculum models and strategies to enhance learning outcomes and achieve ‘Outstanding’ ratings
  • Motivate, support and develop staff – Fostering a collaborative and positive working environment that prioritises both student and staff wellbeing
Key requirements:
  • Experience as a Head Teacher in a Specialist provision (In particular, supporting young people with ASC and Speech, Language and Communication needs)
  • Thorough understanding of the Independent School Standards and Ofsted regulations
  • Experience providing high standards of care for young people with additional needs
  • Strong understanding of curriculum design and development
  • Experience in school improvement – Particularly in monitoring staff practices and implementing CPD to drive standards.
  • Proven track record of building strong relationships with internal staff and external stakeholders
  • Qualified Teacher Status
