About the HLTA role

  • Lead and cover lessons from Reception to Year 6
  • Production of lesson plans and resources to support groups/ classes of children.
  • Working effectively with individual pupils, small groups and whole classes. Providing support for learning and social and emotional development of children.
  • Record progress and achievement in lessons and activities, to provide constructive feedback on pupil progress/achievement etc.
  • Acting as a role model, promoting the inclusion and acceptance of all pupils within the classroom
  • Encourage pupils to interact and work co-operatively with others

What we need from you

  • Maths and English GCSE grade A*-C / 9-4 or equivalent
  • Higher Level Teaching Assistant Qualification
  • Experience of working with young people, particularly those with ASD diagnosis
  • Confident to converse with parents, students and members of the public
  • Good ICT skills
