Are you a Product Development Technologist with experience in the food manufacturing industry looking to join a successful & continually expanding company with a global reach, in a challenging and fast paced innovative role?

The role would suit someone with previous experience in a Product Development role accompanied with a background in food manufacturing / production. Day to day you will work alongside the Technical Manager, Head of Innovation and development Chefs. You will be instrumental in delivering new products to market and play a key role across the whole process from conception through to launch.

THE ROLE:

  • Delivering new products & customer launches to market
  • Ensuring that ingredient/product information is accurate, up-to-date and consistent in the NPD system
  • Understanding project critical paths and implications of deviations
  • Building relationships with the manufacturers, understanding capabilities and spending time on-site with their development teams to create exciting products efficiently, following the products through to the launch and beyond.
  • Co-ordinating sample requests, overseeing product processes, and conducting organoleptic and shelf-life evaluations across product ranges
  • Generate product labelling in compliance with relevant legislation
  • Support continuous improvement projects by identifying innovative ideas and ingredient opportunities that maximise cost savings and enhance business efficiency.
  • Generate internal & external project documentation
  • Assist in sending samples for customer request, photography or external events
  • Investigating new global & local food trends and competitor activity



THE PERSON:

  • BSc Food Science/Technology (or similar) with previous experience in a similar role
  • Computer literate, particularly EXCEL.
  • A self-starter who shows initiative and excels in multitasking with attention to detail.
  • Excellent organisational skills and natural can-do attitude.
  • Relishes working in a fast-paced environment in a hands-on capacity independently and as a part of a team.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • A strong interest in food outside of work and awareness of market trends.
