Our client, a leader in the field of manufacturing abatement systems, is seeking a dedicated Product Development Engineer for a permanent role in Bristol. This hybrid position offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to the development of cutting-edge abatement products. Our client's solutions play a critical role in enabling clients to reduce greenhouse gases produced during the manufacturing of microchips



Key Responsibilities:

  • Participating in HAZOP/DFMEA studies and employing risk analysis techniques to ensure actions are included in verification test plans, factory acceptance tests, or final test and commissioning documents
  • Conducting and recording risk assessments as required for project execution
  • Supporting the introduction of new products onto the factory flow line and on customers' sites where necessary
  • Ensuring engineering changes are concluded in accordance with the planned schedule
  • Performing type testing and compliance testing of designs, including designing experiments
  • Executing engineering calculations and undertaking medium to complex FEAs in support of design
  • Designing and developing all mechanical aspects of a product range
  • Participating in design reviews (specification, concept, model, and critical)
  • Generating innovative ideas and contributing to new processes and product improvements
  • Escalating any foreseen technical risks to the senior development engineer


Job Requirements:

  • Minimum 2:2 Engineering degree or demonstrated industry experience with other engineering qualifications
  • Proficiency in electrical and mechanical design concepts and system testing
  • Familiarity with safety assessments, compliance standards, and regulations
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Proficiency in product development methodologies, including requirements gathering, design, validation, and manufacturing transition
  • Experience with system characterization, testing, and failure analysis techniques
  • Fluency in spoken and written English
  • Strong communication, organisational awareness, and impact skills
  • Influencing, communication, presentation, and negotiation skills, both internally and externally
