SALARY- 30,000-40,000 per annum, depending on experience



My client is a specialist manufacturer. They are looking for a Test & Development Engineer join their team in Bristol on a permanent basis.



The Test & Development Engineer will ideally have the following attributes:

  • Experienced in a technical and hands-on Engineering position
  • Experienced with testing
  • Knowledge of full lifecycle product development, R&D, design and prototyping
  • Be proficient using 3D CAD software such as SolidWorks, Inventor, Creo etc
  • Degree / HNC / HND / BTEC / NVQ qualified in Mechanical Engineering or similar
  • Excellent attention to detail
  • Able to read engineering drawings and BOMs
  • Excellent communication skills both verbal and written
  • Proficient using MS Office
  • Excellent organisational skills and time management skills
  • Have the ability to work well alone as well as part of a small multi-disciplinary team


The Test & Development Engineer role will involve:

  • Mechanical testing and manufacture of a variety of components and equipment
  • Developing new and existing products
  • Using CAD for concept design and producing technical drawings
  • Handling compliance and test specifications
  • Working to procedures and instructions
  • Assisting the quality team with functional and visual inspection
  • Working to procedures and compliance standards
  • Testing, fault-finding and repair
  • Using CAD to produce technical drawings, reading, annotating, creating jigs, fixtures, and testing apparatus
  • Working both independently and in a team
  • Communicating with different departments to resolve technical issues
