gap personnel Bristol are operating as an employment agency and currently looking to recruit an experienced Production Supervisor for a well-established client based in Bristol!

The Production Supervisor role is designed to oversee and guide packing team towards achieving project and organisational goals with efficiency and coherence. This position involves a strategic blend of mentorship, project management, and operational oversight to ensure that team efforts align with broader company objectives.

The Job Role

  • Preparing work according to production schedule and assign workers production line tasks.
  • Evaluating incoming orders and setting up the production line accordingly.
  • Optimising packing line efficiency by monitoring productivity and quality.
  • Identifying and resolving production line problems in a timely manner.
  • Training and supervising new packing line workers.
  • Collaborating with other departments to ensure that orders are completed on time.
  • Maintaining a fully operational, safe, and tidy work environment at all times.
  • Ensuring compliance with company policies and industry regulations.
  • Participating in SOP creation and review process.
  • Complete a comprehensive shift report at the end of each shift, record accurately all downtime and inform Production Manager of any issues.
  • Recognise high and low performance, and feedback to the Production Manager.
  • Support the Production Manager on continuous improvement activities.
  • Complete weekly stock checks for your department and flag low stock levels to the Production Manager.
  • Knowledge of D365 (Microsoft) will be essential, ability to complete tasks without supervision.
  • Identify problems which may occur and take appropriate action to resolve the situation, updating managers or other departments as necessary.
  • Ensuring housekeeping (clean as you go) and 5S system is strictly adhered to.
  • Ensuring all team members are trained in all areas of the KR department monitoring, controlling, and minimizing waste. Feedback all issues as well as improvements suggestions.
  • Undertaking such other duties as may be required from time to time, that reasonably fall within the scope and grade of the post e.g. Covering Production Managers absence.
  • Ensure all duties carried out and actions completed in every aspect of your role, contribute to the short and long-term Sustainability Goals set-forth by set by the client - Climate, Biodiversity & People Pillars

The candidate

  • Good level and standard of UK/European education or equivalent.
  • Clear and confident communication skills both written and verbal.
  • Experience in leading teams preferred.
  • Good PC skills, especially MS Excel.
  • Strong planning and organising skills.
  • Results oriented.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft D365 an advantage.
  • Ability to work well under pressure and achieve deadlines.
  • A flexible approach and a proactive attitude.
