Technical Lead - Valves

Bristol (Hybrid)

We are seeking a Technical Lead (Valves) to support critical nuclear energy programmes across the UK and Europe, including new-build power stations, small modular reactor (SMR) development, and major international projects.

Working as part of a multidisciplinary team embedded within high-profile infrastructure programmes, you'll play a pivotal role in the delivery of safe, high-quality, and timely engineering solutions. This position offers a mix of client-facing and internal responsibilities with a focus on innovative thinking, technical excellence, and collaborative delivery.



Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead technical meetings and manage stakeholder communication.

  • Review and approve technical documents, drawings, and design changes.

  • Oversee the resolution of technical issues, non-conformances, and exemption requests.

  • Monitor contract and design evolution, ensuring alignment with project progress.

  • Coordinate qualification activities to align with contract and site needs.

  • Support and mentor less experienced Technical Leads within the team.

  • Report key performance indicators to senior leadership.



Requirements:

  • Master's degree (or equivalent) in Engineering or a Scientific discipline.

  • Extensive knowledge of valves and related mechanical, piping, and layout systems.

  • Understanding of nuclear power station design (EPR or general PWR).

  • Familiarity with equipment interfaces, safety case integration, and qualification standards.

  • Strong communication skills with experience in contract and document management.

  • Experience using tools such as UKDC, UKICM, OPM, CEMAR, and Teamcenter is advantageous.
