SEND Consultant

Duration: Initially 11 months
Hours: 37 hours a week
Rate: 550 umbrella a day (435 PAYE a day)

Bristol City Council are looking for a SEND Consultant to join their team. This role is required to be in Bristol a minimum of 2 days a week to build relationships and visit the school estate in person

As a SEND Consultant you will:

  • Internally review and improve the Local Authority's approach to funding specialist provision and also work directly with schools and multi-academy trusts in Bristol to deliver new Specialist places in mainstream settings
  • Work in internal staff and external stakeholders to identify issues with the current SEND financial system, develop and implement new processes and deliver transformation to improve the model
  • Manage and oversee operations to identify opportunities for new places, negotiate funding agreements, specifications and delivery timescales
  • Work alongside the Head of Capital Projects/Capital Programme Manager to ensure new specialist places are delivered on time

Requirements

  • Proven experience in leading changes to SEND financial systems
  • Good knowledge of SEND and related statutory responsibilities
  • Possess a strong understanding of capital delivery in educational settings and a successful track record of managing a significant capital programme with a complex stakeholder
  • Experience of working with schools to negotiate and deliver school places
  • Experience within a similar role
