We currently have a vacancy a Finance Business Partner to lead on delivering high quality financial advice and commercial & financial expertise to the organisation. Please note that this role is subject to a Standard DBS Check.

You will take a full and proactive approach in managing and delivering timely financial and management accounting services, including all aspects of budgeting, medium- and long-term financial planning, project and transformation programme support, forecasting, financial reporting and control. This will include long-term capital and resource planning for general fund, ring-fenced funds, partnership funds (e.g. A Combined Authority), closure of the annual accounts and companies wholly owned or which the Client has a material interest.

All applicants will need to demonstrate an in-depth understanding of technical accounting in a Local Authority.

What do I need to apply?

Full CCAB or Certified Member of the Institute of Risk Management (or equivalent qualification).

Sharp financial acumen to build robust commercial and economic models, define appropriate pricing strategies and ensure budgets & forecasts, including revenue and capital projections, are sound and support proposed changes.

Knowledge of International Financial Reporting Standards, the financial markets, funding requirements and opportunities.

An in-depth understanding of technical accounting in a Local Authority, this is essential to the role so unless it is clearly demonstrated your application will not be sifted.
