ARM are delighted to be supporting one of our clients with the recruitment of A Procurement Officer on a permanent basis.

This is a new and exciting opportunity to be involved with one of our clients largest won contracts.

Responsibilities:

  • Build relationships with suppliers to effectively.
  • Assist in supplier evaluation and selection, reviewing tenders, pricing, frameworks and quotations.
  • Monitor supplier performance, progress chasing when necessary.
  • Negotiate, as required, with suppliers to agree prices and terms to ensure cost effective and efficient supply of requirements.
  • Identify alternative suppliers when necessary and monitor supplier risk.
  • Oversee the rejection of items and disposals/repairs in line with security guidance and environmental requirements.
  • Monitor lead times and obsolescence to ensure continuity of supply.
  • Liaise with stakeholders to ensure best practice and continuous improvement in line with relevant standards.
  • Provide reports, documentation and information to stakeholders.

Requirements:

  • Previous purchasing experience is essential.
  • Experience working within the Defence or Manufacturing industry preferred.
  • Experience with monitoring supplier performance.
  • Strong supplier negotiation skills.
  • CIPS qualified preferred.
  • Proficient with ERP/MRP systems.
