Premier Engineering is recruiting for a Purchasing Assistant to join a growing and dynamic team in Bristol. This role involves supporting the procurement process, managing supplier relationships, and ensuring the timely delivery of materials and services to support the business's operations.
The Purchasing Assistant will ideally have the following attributes:
- Experience in a purchasing, procurement, or supply chain role (preferably within a manufacturing or engineering environment)
- Strong organizational and multitasking skills
- Excellent communication and negotiation abilities
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel
- Knowledge of procurement software or ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle, or similar)
- Attention to detail and accuracy in managing data and documentation
- Ability to work collaboratively within a team and meet tight deadlines
- A proactive approach to problem-solving
- Assisting with the procurement of materials, components, and services as required
- Liaising with suppliers to obtain quotes, place orders, and ensure timely deliveries
- Monitoring stock levels and assisting in inventory management to avoid shortages
- Maintaining accurate records of purchases, pricing, and supplier details
- Supporting the negotiation of prices and contracts to achieve cost savings
- Ensuring compliance with company policies and procedures in all purchasing activities
- Building and maintaining strong relationships with suppliers and internal stakeholders
- Assisting with resolving any supply chain issues or discrepancies
