If so, we have an exciting opportunity for you to join a dynamic developer as an Estimator. You will play a critical role in ensuring the financial success of residential projects, from initial costing to tender submissions.

Key Duties and Responsibilities

  • Prepare accurate cost estimates for residential development projects, including land acquisition budgets and construction costs.
  • Analyse tender documents, drawings, and specifications to determine project requirements.
  • Obtain and review quotes from subcontractors and suppliers to ensure value for money.
  • Conduct risk assessments and provide detailed breakdowns of project costs.
  • Collaborate with the design and construction teams to develop cost-effective solutions.
  • Prepare tender submissions and ensure deadlines are met.
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of market trends, material costs, and supply chain changes.
  • Manage and update a database of pricing and cost information for future use.
  • Provide support to the project team throughout the lifecycle of developments.

Requirements

  • Proven experience as an Estimator, with a strong focus on residential projects.
  • Solid knowledge of construction methods, materials, and processes.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with a keen eye for detail.
  • Excellent communication and negotiation skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with suppliers and subcontractors.
  • Proficiency in using estimating software and Excel.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and meet tight deadlines.
  • Experience working with a developer or main contractor in the residential sector.
  • Full UK driving licence and willingness to travel to sites when required.
