An exciting opportunity for an experienced Quantity Surveyor, to join a regional civil engineering contractor who have been instrumental in the regeneration of Bristol and surrounding areas. Our client, a leading provider of earthworks and civil engineering solutions with over 50 years of industry experience are looking to add to their current team and have partnered with Abatec, to recruit a driven individual to work across diverse and challenging projects, based from their office, just outside of Avonmouth. The successful individual will play a critical role in managing costs, contracts, and ensuring the financial success of our projects. They will also work closely with the Estimating team and will therefore have some exposure to estimating software such as COINS and have a willingness to assist in the tender process.
Key Responsibilities
- Tender process experience.
- Preparing, submitting, and managing valuations and applications for payment.
- Measuring and valuing work done on-site.
- Managing subcontractor accounts and final accounts to achieve best value.
- Providing accurate cost reporting and forecasting.
- Ensuring contract compliance and mitigating risks through proactive management.
- Supporting project teams with financial advice and guidance.
- Identifying opportunities for cost savings and efficiency improvements.
- Negotiating and resolving contractual disputes.
Skills and Experience Required
- Proven experience as a Quantity Surveyor within the construction or civil engineering sector particularly earthworks.
- Strong knowledge of NEC contract forms.
- Estimating experience.
- Cash Flow Software experience such as COINS.
- Excellent numerical, analytical, and negotiation skills.
- Proficient in cost management and financial reporting tools.
- Ability to work collaboratively with project teams and stakeholders.
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Relevant qualifications, such as a degree in Quantity Surveying, or equivalent.
