Responsibilities of the Quantity Surveyor:
As a Quantity Surveyor, you will play a key role in project success, from inception to completion. Your responsibilities will include:
- Preparing cost plans, estimates, Bills of Quantities, and tender documents.
- Managing construction phase services such as change management, contractor payment applications, forecasting, and final accounts.
- Producing commercial reports for client use.
- Working closely with other disciplines to provide an integrated approach to client delivery.
- Developing and maintaining client relationships to ensure outstanding service delivery.
- Providing mentorship to colleagues and supporting team development.
Requirements of the Quantity Surveyor:
To be successful in this role, you should have:
- A BSc in Quantity Surveying or another construction related field.
- Proficiency in pre- and post-contract quantity surveying duties.
- Experience with NEC contracts, ideally NEC 4.
- Knowledge of measurement methods.
- The ability to work independently and take initiative.
- Infrastructure experience.
- Membership or progression towards membership with the Chartered Institute of Surveyors (RICS) or another recognised professional body.
- Strong communication skills.
- Commercially aware.
- Ability to work in fast paced environments.
