We are recruiting a Senior Quantity Surveyor for a leading construction and engineering firm renowned for delivering high-quality infrastructure projects across the South West. The company has a number of live schemes ongoing currently and require additional commercial support for these projects. This company is thriving, with impressive turnover and a promising forecast for the years ahead. Your new role
The successful candidate will play a pivotal role in managing costs, contracts, and budgets to ensure the successful delivery of our earthworks projects. Duties will include, but not be limited to, the following:
- Oversee the financial management and cost control of Civil Engineering & Earthworks projects.
- Prepare and analyse project budgets, estimates, and cost plans.
- Manage procurement processes, including subcontractor and supplier negotiations.
- Conduct risk assessments and implement mitigation strategies.
- Provide accurate and timely reporting on project financial performance.
- Ensure compliance with all contractual obligations and industry standards.
- Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and other stakeholders to ensure project success.
- Mentor and support junior quantity surveyors and other team members.
What you'll need to succeed
- Degree in Quantity Surveying, Civil Engineering or related field.
- Minimum 8 years experience in Quantity Surveying within the Civil Engineering sector.
- Expert contract knowledge in NEC forms of contract is beneficial.
- The ability to work autonomously and as part of a team.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and negotiation skills.
- Proficient in using industry-standard software and tools.
- Outstanding communication and interpersonal skills.
