Your new companyWe are recruiting a Senior Quantity Surveyor for a leading construction and engineering firm renowned for delivering high-quality infrastructure projects across the South West. The company has a number of live schemes ongoing currently and require additional commercial support for these projects. This company is thriving, with impressive turnover and a promising forecast for the years ahead. This role is ideal for someone seeking to join a smaller organisation where they can fully immerse themselves in the projects they work on, free from the bureaucracy often found in larger companies. Your new roleThe successful candidate will play a pivotal role in managing costs, contracts, and budgets to ensure the successful delivery of our earthworks projects. Duties will include, but not be limited to, the following:

  • Oversee the financial management and cost control of Civil Engineering & Earthworks projects.
  • Prepare and analyse project budgets, estimates, and cost plans.
  • Manage procurement processes, including subcontractor and supplier negotiations.
  • Conduct risk assessments and implement mitigation strategies.
  • Provide accurate and timely reporting on project financial performance.
  • Ensure compliance with all contractual obligations and industry standards.
  • Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and other stakeholders to ensure project success.
  • Mentor and support junior quantity surveyors and other team members.

What you'll need to succeed

  • Degree in Quantity Surveying, Civil Engineering or related field.
  • Minimum 8 years experience in Quantity Surveying within the Civil Engineering sector.
  • Expert contract knowledge in NEC forms of contract is beneficial.
  • The ability to work autonomously and as part of a team.
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and negotiation skills.
  • Proficient in using industry-standard software and tools.
  • Outstanding communication and interpersonal skills.
