Tenant Participation Officer

Venn Group are currently working with a Local Authority in the South West, who are seeking a Tenant Participation Officer to promote and facilitate resident engagement/tenant participation with Homes and Landlord Services.

Main duties of the job:

  • Research, prepare and present reports and briefing notes/ presentations for members, management team, service managers/ staff and service user
  • Organise and supervise project work to satisfy the requirements of the Housing Scrutiny Panel/Homes and Landlord Services schedules and objectives
  • Organise and attend consultation meetings/ seminars/ working groups with key stakeholders as appropriate
  • Development and maintenance of comprehensive policies, procedures, training material and information on-line for tenant/leaseholder panels and staff users through consultation with all stakeholders
  • Provide support to and to represent the allocated manager and ensure continuation of the project in accordance with the agreed project plan
  • Assist with recruitment, retention and development of tenant/leaseholder panels as appropriate and in accordance with the tenant participation frameworks/policies
  • Develop and provide training and guidance to tenants and staff in conjunction with tenant involvement policy, project and procedure development
  • Resolve complex issues relating to the service and respond in a professional manner to customer driven issues

Essential Skills:

  • Experience of working with tenants/residents/community/customer groups and identifying opportunities and innovative methods that encourage, generate and maintain participation
  • Ability to foster and maintain effective working relationships and work collaboratively with tenants, senior managers and other stakeholders on complex issues
  • Have a working knowledge of business and teamworking applications, e.g., Microsoft 365 or equivalent, including email, word processing, spreadsheet, browser, team collaboration applications
