Transport Co-Ordinator (Nights)

Strive are delighted to be supporting a well-established fresh produce distributor as they are looking to strengthen their Transport Management team based in Bristol. We are looking for a dynamic individual to join their management team as a Transport Co-Ordinator, on a Sunday Thursday basis (2100hrs 0530hrs). Our client delivers fresh produce and food to catering establishments throughout the South West.

The role will involve the planning of routes for circa 50 vans to specific timescales, ensuring customer requirements are met, and producing the drivers route paperwork pack. You will dispatch drivers, ensuring all is correct for their departure, including monitoring vehicle pre-departure checks and briefing drivers regarding changes to customer requirements. You will also be responsible for conducting return to work discussions, completing the associated documents for management review.

Key Requirements:

  • Daily routing to meet customer requirements regarding delivery times, balancing vehicle capacities
  • Utilise the fleet in most effective manner, maximising vehicle efficiency (vehicle fill).
  • Operate within traffic laws at all times, ensuring the site Operators licence is not put in jeopardy.
  • Complete paperwork packs using computer system
  • Providing information for management
  • Liaising with WH to ensure vehicle availability
  • Briefing drivers pre-departure
  • Undertaking vehicle checks
  • Assisting as necessary to check loading for specific routes or high profile customers
  • Completing nightly reports accurately & timely.

About you:

  • Used to working night shift
  • Experience in a transport or WH department, ideally multi-drop
  • Experience of time-pressurised operations
