As the Accounts Administrator you are the professional support function for the corporate reporting team of the business. You are responsible for supporting the accounting function in a timely, accurate and structured manner whilst supporting and ensuring satisfactory controls are maintained in all business processes.

You are the professional interface between the business and its suppliers, customers and manufacturers that work with the business and you support the delivery of the companies agreed reporting requirements.

To provide support to the accounting function, working with them to improve the quality and timeliness of information produced.
  • To assist the accounting function to ensure satisfactory controls are maintained in all dealership processes and to monitor and support dealership processes.
  • To assist in ensuring all accounting and reporting deadlines are adhered to through provision of positive support.
  • Assist with the production of timely and accurate financial information in accordance with stated policies and procedures.
  • To provide general administration support to the Head Office.
  • Develop understanding of motor industry and dealership accounting with objective of progressing within the accounting function.
  • The nature of the job is such that the person undertaking this role must be prepared to operate at all times in a confidential manner.
  • Ensure where applicable that Group Accounting Policies and business procedures are adhered to highlighting areas of concern to senior management.
  • Assist in the implementation and development of systems and controls that are appropriate for the effective management of the business. Assist to ensure such controls and systems are adhered to.
  • Assist in the preparation of management accounts and financial information for the dealerships, which are both timely and accurate, and in compliance with Group Policies and procedure. In particular support the main accounting areas of purchase ledger, sales ledger and cashiering.
  • Data input and processing for purchase ledger, assisting with registering, verifying invoices, reconciling supplier statements, raising and posting supplier BACS payments.
  • Data input and processing for sales ledger, assisting with posting cash receipts, basic credit control and maintenance of ledgers.
  • Data input and processing for cashier, assisting with cash posting.
  • Assist with the reconciliation of basic balance sheet accounts on a monthly basis as required.
  • Assume responsibility for filing and maintaining efficient working environment.
  • To carry out ad-hoc project work requested.
  • Any other reasonable duties relating to the role as detailed by management.
