English Teacher

English teacher required for immediate start working until Easter, potentially longer.

Zen Educate are currently on the lookout for an English teacher to take on some full time contract work at a secondary school in Bristol. This would be ideally starting asap and running up to Easter. As with any full time teaching, marking and planning is required, along with attendance to any parents evenings as well.

We are ideally looking for a subject specialist, but would happily consider a teacher that is confident in the subject but no a specialist. The applicant will need to have good classroom management and be able to keep students engaged in their learning, and also be able to differentiate learning and ensure all students can access the lesson according to their learning level.

Since this is required so quickly the applicant will need to have an enhanced DBS on the update service and be able to jump into the work, being hands on and 'run with the ball'.

Requirements

- UK QTS with English specialism, or be at least confident to teach the subject to KS3/4 level

- Strong behaviour management and can ensure students are on task and achieving their learning objectives

- Good team player and able to communicate well with the other staff members in the department

- Can plan engaging lessons, that both challenge and inspire students

- Able to utilise classroom support where needed

- Flexible to the needs of the school and happy to get involved in other duties such as parents evening.
