Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver high-quality lessons in English across Key Stage 3 and Key Stage 4.
  • Foster a positive learning environment where students feel engaged, challenged, and supported.
  • Plan, prepare and teach lessons to suit varying abilities and learning styles, including students with SEN or English as an additional language
  • Assess, record and report on the development, progress and attainment of students
  • Encourage a love of literature and language through creative teaching methods.
  • Active participation in extra-curricular activities/ educational visits / out-of-hours learning

We are looking for:

  • A qualified English teacher with a strong passion for teaching.
  • Experience in teaching English at Key Stage 3 and 4 (KS5 desirable, but not essential).
  • Competent user of ICT
  • Emotional resilience in working with challenging behaviours and attitudes to use of authority and maintaining discipline
