Day-to-day of the role:
  • Plan, prepare, and deliver engaging Maths lessons that cater to the needs of students with varying academic and personal backgrounds.
  • Utilise a variety of teaching methods to provide a balanced education in Maths, incorporating practical and theoretical elements.
  • Contribute to the development of bespoke programmes that leverage studentsā€™ strengths and address their areas for development.
  • Participate in and sometimes lead activities outside the classroom, including educational trips that enhance learning and expose students to cultural and historical sites.
  • Assess and record studentsā€™ progress, maintaining up-to-date records and providing feedback to students and parents/guardians.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to integrate therapeutic interventions and pastoral support into the curriculum, enhancing student engagement and learning outcomes.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) in Maths or a related subject.
  • Experience teaching Maths at secondary level, with a strong understanding of the national curriculum for alternative secondary provisions.
  • Proven ability to adapt teaching methods to suit students with diverse needs and circumstances.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to motivate and inspire students.
