PE Teacher required for maternity cover contract

A catholic secondary school in West Bristol are looking for a PE teacher to join them in November to take on a maternity cover contract teaching PE. This post is full time with marking and planning expected. The school located near the Henbury area offer a warm and welcoming team to be a part of and whilst some of the students can come with some diffciult behaviours as many do, the school is noted for being a great place to teach in.

We are ideally looking for a subject specialist in PE but would certainly consider a teacher that is confident to teach PE but is not a specialist. This role is Monday to Friday and term time only.

Requirements;

- UK QTS in secondary, and ideally a specialism in PE.

- We are looking for a teacher that is able to get full participation from students but offer an inclusive and positive learning environment, so all students can enjoy and feel included in PE.

- Good level of skill in behaviour management and able to follow the school policies in place at the school.

- Possess good communication skills and can engage with head of department and other members of SLT to ensure that school aims are adopted in your day to day work.

- Hold an enhanced DBS on the update service or be willing to obtain a new one.

This is a great opportunity perhaps for an ECT that is looking to jump into something long term or for a teacher that may be between permanent roles and looking to keep busy and working.
