Secondary Higher Level Teaching Assistant PRU AP - Bristol (BS16)
Do you have experience working with challenging behaviour? Are you interested in supporting young people's Mental Health?
A secondary PRU (Pupil Referral Unit) in Fishponds is currently recruiting for a Higher Level Teaching Assistant to join them ASAP. The PRU cater for children and young adults who have been excluded from mainstream education or are in a transition period before finding a place in a specialist setting.
- £95 - £120 per day, depending on experience
- Full-time, Monday to Thursday 8:30am - 4.30pm, Friday 8:30 - 4.00pm
- Term time only plus 5 inset days
- Bristol - BS16 - free parking on site or easily accessible by public transport
About the Higher Level Teaching Assistant role
- Providing learning support KS3 and KS4 students who struggle with learning, social, or emotional barriers and helping them to rediscover their love for education.
- Inspiring and empowering young pupils, fostering growth in their social skills, emotional resilience, and academic achievements.
- 1:1 assistance for pupils with Special Needs and challenging behaviour
- Working alongside fully trained therapists and psychologists as well as other professionals within the education/mental health field.
What we need from you
- A graduate (2:2 or above - Psychology and Criminology desirable) OR an experienced teaching assistant / learning support assistant who is passionate about Special Educational Needs and Behavioural Needs
- Excellent communication skills
- Resilient and confident to work with challenging behaviour
