A bit about the role:
This role focuses on driving sales and leading Channel development within the UK Water industry. You will be responsible for business development and improving both direct sales to Utilities and distributor performance in your UK sales territory. This role is a combination of building new business and growing customer relationships, your role will be central to developing and executing a channel sales strategy that aligns with company goals.
Key responsibilities include:
- Researching and identifying profitable new routes to market.
- Managing and growing distributor sales in existing and new territories.
- Developing sales forecasts and ensuring targets are met or exceeded.
- Leading cross-functional problem-solving activities and identifying product development opportunities.
- Engaging with key stakeholders and influencers in target markets.
- Leading the internal sales team and supporting staff development.
You will play a critical role in driving sales growth, providing timely reports, and ensuring alignment with company strategy while maintaining a commitment to innovation and market trends.
What we’re looking for:
We’re looking for an experienced Business Development Manager (BDM) with a proven track record in business development and distributor management within the UK Water industry. The ideal candidate will possess:
- A degree-level education, with the ability to understand product ranges and their technical applications.
- Demonstrable experience as a BDM or in a similar role, successfully growing both existing customer bases and developing new business.
- Ideally, worked in the Utilities market e.g. Thames water, Southern water and South West water.
- Experience of selling to both end users and channel partners.
- Demonstrate technical credibility and the ability to engage with technical teams and problem-solve customer needs.
- Proven success in a target-driven environment, achieving sales goals in a B2B role.
- Demonstrate strong commercial acumen, excellent communication skills, and the ability to influence at all levels.
- A proactive and team-oriented mindset with a continuous improvement focus.
- Must be a UK citizen
- Valid UK driving licence
