- Follow a set of instructions for each job
- Sew different fabrics like cotton, wool, leather or industrial textiles.
- Use sewing machines to sew or decorate clothing and other products
- Keep machines stocked with thread, position material under needles, and guide their stitching to sew parts together
- When a product is finished, measure each item to ensure accuracy
- Experience of using a sewing machine – at home or in a professional capacity
- Knowledge of hand sewing techniques.
- Ability to read patterns and instruction sheets
