Multi Skilled Maintenance Engineer

Avonmouth, Bristol

Double Days, 06:00 - 14:00 / 14:00 - 22:00

We are looking for a motivated Maintenance Engineer to join a market leading manufacturer in their respective field. Reporting directly to the Engineering Manager, you will be a key member in ensuring the production facility is kept running. You will be involved in all aspects of planned and reactive maintenance within their operation. With progressive training and development this company is always looking to enhance its employees and their skill sets, whilst additionally being supported by a welcoming team of engineers. The position will appeal to a strong engineer looking for their next challenging role within in a secure and stable company.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform planned and reactive electrical maintenance on machinery and equipment within the food production facility.
  • Diagnose and troubleshoot electrical faults, ensuring timely repairs to minimize downtime.
  • Ensure all work is completed to high safety standards in accordance with company and industry regulations.
  • Support the engineering team with proactive maintenance strategies to improve reliability and performance.
  • Participate in weekend cover (1 in 4 weekends), paid at a higher rate.
  • Collaborate with production and operations teams to minimize impact on production lines.
  • Maintain accurate records of work carried out and maintain the integrity of plant equipment.

Requirements:

  • Electrical bias: Proven experience in an electrical maintenance role, preferably within the food industry.
  • Recognized electrical qualifications (e.g., NVQ Level 3, MS Elec, or equivalent).
  • Strong knowledge of electrical systems, including fault-finding and troubleshooting.
  • Experience with planned preventative maintenance (PPM) and reactive maintenance.
  • Ability to work independently, as well as part of a team, and show a flexible attitude to covering weekends when required.
  • Strong communication skills and a safety-first approach
